Pop culture engulfed us half a century ago. There is much debated whether its name means explosion or popular; Pop is both of them and much more, it is an explosion of popular joy that predisposes us to feel happiness.
Pop is a movement that is inserted in all the others without merging; Rock stars, Jazz players, Latin music performers, etc., have very often become famous for their Pop songs. Many start as Pop musicians and later changed to others styles; although they usually return to their first love. Others start to Pop after reaching fame with different music styles. That what is truly Pop is also truly fashion; making it really difficult for Pop stars to last.
Pop does not mind being ephemeral, we enjoy it a lot while it lasts. We love it madly in the beginning; we want to sing, and dance and listen to the songs again and again. One good day another song pops up, subjugating us as much as the previous one did, it even seems infinitely better; but Pop fans never compare them. This new beautiful song will also be forgotten. Meanwhile we like it, and it is pop.
